This summer I decided to sponsor a child in Haiti (my paren’ts homeland) through Save the Children. For only $28/month, you can help a child go to school and provide food for his/her family. You also have an opportunity to develop a relationship with the child by sending letters and photos. If you’ve ever wondered who your charity dollars are actually helping, sponsoring a child through Save the Children links you with the people who you are helping. I was presently surprised to receive, a few weeks after signing up for the program, to receive a profile of the young girl I am helping. It included information on the area where she lives, her family, and the work the Save the Children field office is doing in her community. Pleaes find a description and link to the Save the Children website. Judy
